Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a method that enables sufficient proliferation of cells, in particular immune competent cells, even in a serum-free medium or a low-serum medium, and a medium additive and a medium composition to be used in this method. By adding boric acid or a salt thereof, an effect of maintaining and promoting cell proliferation, which is comparable to the effect obtained in culture using a serum-containing medium, can be obtained even in a serum-free medium or a low-serum medium.
