Abstract:
This invention relates to methods and compositions for treating or preventing the symptoms associated with toxicity induced by ingestion of MDMA. In one aspect, the present invention is related to methods for treating or preventing the symptoms associated with MDMA, or MDMA-related psychoactive drugs comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of an agent which inhibits gamma-amino butyric acid (GABA) transporter activity or reduces GABA transporter level in the brain.
