Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a simple crank structure with which a long stroke can be easily achieved, and to provide a reciprocating engine incorporating said crank structure. [Solution] A crank structure 10 is provided with an annular portion 15 having an internally toothed gear 15a on the base-end side of a connecting rod 11, a gear 16 meshing with the internally toothed gear is rotatably arranged in the annular portion, and a disc-shaped eccentric free rotor 17 coaxially superimposed on the gear is fitted in the annular portion so as to be able to slide and rotate. The ratio of the diameter of the gear to the inner diameter of the internally toothed gear is 1:2, and the ratios of the distance between a crankshaft and a crank pin 12 axially supporting the gear, and of the radius of rotation of a crank arm 13, to the inner diameter of the internally toothed gear are 1:4. As a result, when the connecting rod moves reciprocally, the connecting rod yields double the benefit of the prior art, in comparison to a prior-art crank structure in which the crank arm rotates once with the same diameter as the inner diameter of the internally toothed gear, and a long stroke can therefore be easily achieved.
