Abstract:
Crystalline pivaloyloxymethyl (1R, 5S, 6S)-2-[(4R)-2-oxo-4-pyrrolidinylthio]-6-[(1R)-1-hydroxyethyl]-1-methyl-1-carbapen-2-em-3-carboxylate represented by formula (I), crystalline pivaloyloxymethyl (1R, 5S, 6S)-2-[(4S)-2-oxo-4-pyrrolidinylthio]-6-[(1R)-1-hydroxyethyl]-1-methyl-1-carbapen-2-em-3 carboxylate as an isomer thereof, and a process for producing these compounds. The compounds are stable and useful as a practical antibacterial.
