Abstract:
A display unit comprising an opening (16) for displaying an image by outputting to the outside a light quantity according to an input signal, and a parallax barrier for separating this image into different viewing angles. The parallax barrier is provided with a plurality of oblong barriers (3a). The opening (16) is divided into 2n pieces (n: an integer of at least two) of regions parallel to the longitudinal direction &agr of a barrier (3a) such that, when the area of each region is L1 ··· Ln, Rn ··· R1 sequentially for regions starting with the left-most region, the area of each region satisfies the relation in the expression (1) (m: an integer from 1 to n). Accordingly, it is possible to offer an image of an equivalent display grade to observers on the left and right in a display unit displaying double images.
