Abstract:
The present invention provides a distance image capturing element and a distance image capturing device that are capable of making it less likely that a discharge fault will occur when discharging a charge. A distance image capturing element (distance image sensor 32), in which a pixel circuit (321) is formed on a semiconductor substrate, comprises: a photoelectric conversion element (PD) that generates a charge in accordance with light which is incident from the space of a measured object; charge storage units (CS1, CS2, CS3, CS4) that store the charge; transfer transistors (G1, G2, G3, G4) that are provided on a transfer path for transferring the charge from the photoelectric conversion element to the charge storage units; and charge discharge transistors (GD1 and GD2) that are provided on a discharge path for discharging the charge from the photoelectric conversion element. The shape of the surface of the photoelectric conversion element (PD) in a planar view is rectangular. Two charge discharge transistors (GD1 and GD2) are provided. In a planar view, when an axis that passes through the center of the photoelectric conversion element (PD) in parallel with the long sides of the photoelectric conversion element (PD) is defined as an x axis, and an axis that passes through the center of the photoelectric conversion element (PD) in parallel with the short sides of the photoelectric conversion element (PD) is defined as y axis, the two charge discharge transistors (GD1 and GD2) are disposed on the y axis, and the two charge discharge transistors (GD1 and GD2) are disposed oppositely from each other at positions so as to achieve line symmetry with respect to the x axis.
