Abstract:
A door closer having a structure in which a door closing assistance device is integrally assembled, eliminating complex adjustment between parts and reducing the number of parts to make the door closer compact. A door closer (1) has a closer device (1a) and an opening assistance device (1b). The closer device (1a) is constructed from a pinion (5) rotated in forward and reverse directions as a door is opened and closed; a cylinder (9) meshed with the pinion (5) and moved in a reciprocating manner; and a closure spring (14) for urging the door in the closing direction through the pinion (5). The opening assistance device (1b) is composed of an opening spring (22) for accumulating, by the movement of the cylinder (9) caused by opening operation of the door, opening force acting in the direction to open the door; a lock mechanism (27, 28, 29) for locking, by opening operation of the door, the opening spring (22) in an opening force-accumulated state; and a lock release mechanism (23, 24) for releasing the lock of the lock mechanism by closing operation of the door. The closer device (1a) and the opening assistance device (1b) are arranged in the same case (6) so as to move in association with the movement of opening operation of the door.
