Abstract:
This electrolyte solution sealing material comprises an ehylene-propylene copolymer rubber composition in which an ethylene-propylene copolymer rubber is compounded with PTFE and/or titanium dioxide, wherein the compounded amount of PTFE and/or titanium dioxide in a total amount of filler is 10 wt% or more. This electrolyte solution sealing material has high gas barrier properties, excellent electric insulation properties, and resistance to an electrolyte solution. Additionally, the components compounded in the rubber are not extracted by an electrolyte. The electrolyte solution sealing material may be favorably adopted as a sealing material for use in various types of batteries such as lithium-ion batteries, nickel hydrogen batteries, and the like, and in electrolytic capacitors, electric double layer capacitors, and the like.
