Abstract:
Provided is a heat-storage device which is simple and small-shaped so as not to occupy much space when mounted on an electric car, and which can efficiently store and release heat without using water when used as a heating device. A heat-storage device 10 is provided with: a heat-storage material 14 that is oxidized/reduced by a temperature control operation; a heat-transfer material 15 for heating the heat-storage material 14; at least a pair of electrodes 11, 12 that, when connected to a power source, heat the heat-transfer material 15; a container 16 that encapsulates the heat-storage material 14, the heat-transfer material 15, and the at least a pair of electrodes; an upstream valve 17 provided at an upstream inlet of the container 16 to cut off communication between the inside and outside of the container 16; and a downstream valve provided at a downstream outlet of the container 16 to cut off communication between the inside and outside of the container 16.
