Disclosed in the present application are an image frame rendering method, which is applied to an electronic device that executes image frame rendering. The method of the present application comprises: acquiring a first rendering instruction, wherein the first rendering instruction is used for instructing the rendering of a first target image frame; acquiring a first image frame and a second image frame according to the first rendering instruction, wherein the first image frame is the frame prior to the second image frame, and the second image frame is the frame prior to the first target image frame; and obtaining the first target image frame according to the second image frame and on the basis that the similarity between the first image frame and the second image frame is greater than or equal to a first threshold value, wherein the content of the first target image frame is the same as the content of the second image frame. On the basis of the solution, the rendering power consumption of an electronic device can be reduced while the frame rate of an image frame that is obtained by means of rendering is ensured.
