Abstract:
The present invention allows not only service personnel with specialized knowledge but also users without specialized knowledge to easily and appropriately replace ink in inkjet printers. Provided is an inkjet printer comprising: a print head; an ink flow path; a control unit; a reading unit which reads data recorded on an information recording medium provided in an ink cartridge; and a storage unit, wherein the data includes ink information and software parameters, the storage unit stores at least the ink information recorded on the information recording medium provided in the ink cartridge used immediately before, and the control unit sets the software parameters for a process of cleaning the ink flow path and a process of printing the ink filled in the ink cartridge for replacement, on the basis of the ink information recorded on the information recording medium provided in the ink cartridge used immediately before and the data recorded on the information recording medium provided in the ink cartridge for replacement.
