Abstract:
This laser drive device is provided with: a digital/analog converter which is provided with a plurality of current sources corresponding in number to the number of bits of a digital input code, and a plurality of switches connected to the plurality of current sources and corresponding in number to the number of bits, the plurality of switches selectively switching the presence or absence of output of a control current from each of the current sources, wherein the digital/analog converter outputs the control currents corresponding to the digital input code as respective output currents from the respective switches; and a driver circuit having current mirror circuits which, on the basis of the respective output currents, generate drive currents respectively corresponding to the output currents to drive a laser diode. The driver circuit includes a plurality of current mirror circuits which are respectively connected via the respective switches to current source sets of each of a plurality of groups of current source sets into which the plurality of current sources are divided, the plurality of current mirror circuits generating the drive currents respectively corresponding to the output currents from the respective groups of current source sets to drive the laser diode.
