[Problem] To provide a lead-raising method, a lead-raising device, and a terminal-box-mounting device in which yield can be improved and cost of manual labor can be reduced. [Solution] A lead (30) drawn out from the interior of a cell substrate (1a) and laid on the surface of the cell substrate (1a) is griped at the distal end of the lead (30) by a lead-gripping head (26), and in a state in which the distal end of the lead (30) is gripped, a vertical driving device (28) pulls the lead-gripping head (26) in the direction in which the lead (30) is raised from the surface of the cell substrate (1a) while tension is applied to the lead (30). Preferably, the lead (30) is held at an intermediate point by a lead-holding unit (7a), and the lead-gripping head (26) is pulled in a state in which the lead is held, whereby the lead (30) is bent and raised at the intermediate point. Preferably, while the lead (30) is being raised, a twist mechanism (27) rotates and causes the lead (30) to move in a width direction thereof, whereby a sealing material (32) covering the root section of the lead (30) is cut or peeled away.
