Abstract:
This invention provides a low-cost and high-quality semitransmission-type
and reflection-type liquid crystal display device. The liquid crystal display
device is a liquid crystal display device having a reflecting region for reflecting
incident light toward a display face. The reflecting region comprises a Cs metallic
layer (a metallic layer), a gate insulating layer provided on the Cs metallic
layer, a semiconductor layer provided on the gate insulating layer, and a reflective
layer provided on the semiconductor layer. A first concave part is provided
on the surface of the reflective layer, and a second concave part is provided on
the inner side of the first concave part. The Cs metallic layer and the semiconductor
layer each have an opening part. One of the first concave part and the second concave
part is formed by the opening part in the Cs metallic layer while the other is formed
by the opening part of the semiconductor layer.
