A magnetism detecting circuit wherein any erroneous detection caused by variations of magnetoresistive elements can be prevented without degradation of sensitivity. For this purpose, four magnetoresistive elements are used to configure a bridge circuit having output potentials V1 and V2, and four adjusting resistors are used to configure a bridge circuit having output potentials Vref1 and Vref2 with the values of the adjusting resistors adjusted such that V1 and V2 are equal to Vref1 and Vref2, respectively. Additionally, using this magnetism detecting circuit allows a provision of an apparatus for determining the positions of magnetic bodies that can be reduced in size.
