Abstract:
Provided are: a material for an electrical connection member having, on a surface thereof, a coating layer capable of maintaining electrical conductivity required for electrical connection over a long period; an electrical connection member; and a method by which such a material for an electrical connection member can be manufactured. A material 1 (1', 1") for an electrical connection member comprises: a substrate 10 made of metal; and a coating layer 11 that coats the surface of the substrate 10. The coating layer 11 is configured as a layer comprising a metal oxide and having semiconductor properties. Further, an electrical connection member is configured so as to include the material 1 for an electrical connection member. In addition, in a method for manufacturing the material 1 for an electrical connection member, the following steps are performed in order: a layering step in which a first raw material layer made of a first metal and a second raw material layer made of a second metal are layered in this order on the surface of the substrate 10 so as to form a layered body; and an oxidation step in which the layered body is heated in an atmosphere comprising oxygen so as to oxidize the first metal, thereby forming the coating layer 11.
