Abstract:
This metal strip meandering amount detection method detects the amount of meandering of metal strips that are traveling in a plurality of overlapping levels having intervals therebetween and comprises a step in which: a plurality of distance meters are used, said distance meters being provided lined up in the width direction of the metal strips, along at least one side in the width direction of the plurality of overlapping metal strips; the distance from the attachment position of the distance meters to where same intersect the width direction of the metal strips is measured; and the level in which the meandering is occurring and the amount of meandering of the metal strips is detected by using the attachment position of the distance meters and the measured value.
