Abstract:
This method for attaching a collar to a resin member attaches a metal collar to a through-hole formed in the resin member. The metal collar has a cylindrical main body and a flange extending outwards from the circumferential side surface of the main body. In this attachment method, an annular member is pre-fit into a boundary area between the flange and the circumferential side surface of the main body of the metal collar, said annular member housing a viscous fluid having an adhesive effect on an outer skin broken by a pressure load. The cylindrical main body is inserted into the through-hole and the flange is pressed onto the resin member. As a result, the outer skin is broken, the viscous fluid leaks out from the outer skin, and the metal collar is attached to the resin member by the viscous fluid.
