Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of making it possible to culture, with high efficiency, blue-green algae from which various useful substances are found and which are utilized in a wide range of fields such as medicine, food, and cosmetics. The present inventors have found that blue-green algae can be cultured with high efficiency by a culturing method characterized by culturing blue-green algae in a liquid medium containing one or more salts selected from carbonates, bicarbonates, phosphates, and citrates, with the pH value of the medium kept at 10 or less during cultivation, and were thereby able to solve the above-described problem.
