Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing (meth)acrylic acid, the method comprising: a step for subjecting a raw material for producing (meth)acrylic acid to a contact gas phase oxidation reaction to obtain a (meth)acrylic acid-containing gas; a step for bringing the (meth)acrylic acid-containing gas into contact with a trapping solvent and/or cooling the (meth)acrylic acid-containing gas, and thereby condensing the (meth)acrylic acid-containing gas to obtain a (meth)acrylic acid-containing solution; a step for introducing the (meth)acrylic acid-containing solution into a light-boiling separation column to obtain crude (meth)acrylic acid; a step for purifying the crude (meth)acrylic acid to obtain a purified residue containing purified (meth)acrylic acid and a glyoxal compound; and a step for returning at least a portion of the purified residue to the light-boiling separation column, wherein the position at which the purified residue is returned to the light-boiling separation column is located closer to the bottom side of the column than a port for supplying the (meth)acrylic acid-containing solution.
