Abstract:
A method of producing a woody formed-body comprises a step of hardening with a smaller compression amount a region near the surface of a formed original body containing a woody material and a thermosetting binder, and a step of hardening a region near the center of the formed original body with a larger compression amount after the hardening step of the region near the surface. When a region of the formed original body near the surface is hardened with a smaller compression amount, woody material portions are rare, contacting to each other with a small contact area, and forming material portions are joined in a low dense state. When a region of the formed original body near the center is hardened with a larger compression amount, woody material portions are dense, contacting to each other with a large contact area, and forming material portions are joined in a highly dense state. A woody formed-body that can be obtained has a low dense soft portion in a region near the surface and a highly dense portion in a region near the center.
