Abstract:
Provided are a model generation device for generating a forecasting model for reducing opportunity loss, and a demand forecasting device, demand forecasting method, and program for using the forecasting model to forecast demand. A model generation device (10) has an acquisition unit (110) for acquiring demand information indicating a sales quantity for a prior prescribed period of time for an article in a store, and external information related to the sales quantity, and a control unit (120) for generating a forecasting model for the purpose of calculating a forecast value for the demand for the article, on the basis of the demand information and the external information. The control unit (120) includes a simulation unit (121) for simulating a quantity of display racks for the article on the basis of the demand information and the forecast value, and a forecasting model generation unit (122) for generating the forecasting model and calculating the forecast value on the basis of the external information and the quantity of display racks.
