Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a myofunctional therapy device that can significantly shorten the period for improving general malocclusion by adjusting the muscular function of the perioral muscles. [Solution] A myofunctional therapy device 10 for adjusting the muscular function of the perioral muscles, said device comprising: a base part 11 that is interposed between the upper tooth row 1 of the upper jaw and the lower tooth row 2 of the lower jaw, and has a U-shape when viewed in plan view; an upper tooth row contact section upper tooth row insertion section 11a that contacts the upper tooth row 1 on the upper side of the base part 11; and a groove-shaped lower tooth row insertion section 11b into which the lower tooth row 2 is inserted on the lower side of the base part 11. The myofunctional therapy device 10 is provided with a tongue placement section 26 that extends inward from the base part 11 and holds the tongue at a height not lower than the top of the crowns of the lower tooth row 2.
