Title:
OPTICAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND OPTICAL COMMUNICATION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/250305
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An optical communication system according to the invention comprises a first optical communication device and a second optical communication device that transmit and receive optical signals via an optical transport line. The optical transport line comprises: a first sectional optical transport line connected to the first optical communication device; and a second sectional optical transport line connected to the second optical communication device and having less reflection points of optical signals than the first sectional optical transport line. The optical communication system is provided with: a light source; a launching unit that launches an excitation light outputted from the light source into the second sectional optical transport line, thereby subjecting the optical signal to a distributed Raman amplification; and a separating unit that separates the excitation light launched by the launching unit and transported through the second sectional optical transport line toward the first sectional optical transport line.
