Abstract:
In order to efficiently transmit the force of a piezoelectric element to an optical fiber without attenuation of the force and increase the oscillation of the optical fiber, an optical fiber scanner (10) is provided with: an optical fiber (11), a distal end of which is capable of oscillating in a direction intersecting with the longitudinal direction thereof, the optical fiber (11) having a long, narrow cylindrical shape through which illuminating light generated from a light source can propagate and exit from the distal end; and at least one piezoelectric element (15) plate shaped and polarized in the thickness direction thereof, and individually affixed to an external peripheral surface of the optical fiber (11) toward a proximal-end side relative to the distal end.
