Abstract:
This optical transmitter comprises: a first optical phase modulator that phase-modulates output light from a first laser diode, on the basis of a first electrical signal inputted to a first electrical-signal input unit; a second optical phase modulator that phase-modulates output light from a second laser diode, on the basis of a second electrical signal inputted to a second electrical-signal input unit; an optical multiplexer that multiplexes the output light from the first optical phase modulator and the output light from the second optical phase modulator; a photodiode that converts the output light from the optical multiplexer into a heterodyne detection signal; and an optical intensity modulator that modulates the intensity of output light from a third laser diode on the basis of the heterodyne detection signal outputted from the photodiode.
