Abstract:
This invention is an optical wireless communication system which has a plurality of first optical wireless communication devices, a plurality of second optical wireless communication devices, and a control unit, and in which a communication link is formed for each combination of first optical wireless communication devices and second wireless communication devices, wherein the first optical wireless communication devices include first polarizing filters that allow optical signals to be transmitted or absorbed, the second wireless communication devices include second polarizing filters that allow optical signals to be transmitted or absorbed and reference information transmission units that transmit reference information pertaining to the directions of the transmission axes of the second polarizing filters to the control unit, and the control unit estimates index values pertaining to communication quality when communication links are formed between the first optical wireless communication devices and each of the second wireless communication devices that are communication opportunity allocation candidates on the basis of reference information acquired from each of the second wireless communication devices that are communication opportunity allocation candidates and the directions of the transmission axes of the first polarizing filters, and determines the second optical wireless communication devices to which the communication opportunity will be allocated on the basis of the estimated index values.
