Abstract:
The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device, in which: a dark state is shown between crossed polarizers in the absence of an electric field, by using a liquid crystal mixture which has an optically anisotropic state from an optically isotropic state due to the applying of a voltage; and liquid crystals are arranged in a one-axial direction toward an electric field direction by forming the electric field if the voltage is applied, so that the polarized direction of light is changed and the light passes through the crossed polarizers, thereby showing a bright state. Thus, the invention can improve contrast or the property of a viewing angle, and the response characteristic.
