Provided is a paper currency processing device, comprising: a deposit unit wherein paper currency is inserted; a plurality of dispensing units wherefrom the paper currency is ejected, including a first dispensing unit and a second dispensing unit; and a differentiation unit for differentiating the paper currency conveyed from the deposit unit. The first dispensing unit has: a first paper currency ejection unit for ejecting the paper currency into a first accumulation space of the first dispensing unit; a first stopper member for making contact with the paper currency ejected from the first paper currency ejection unit and retaining the paper currency in the first accumulation space; and a first shutter for restricting the extraction of the paper currency accumulated in the first accumulation space. The second dispensing unit is a dispensing unit for accumulating the paper currency conveyed from the deposit unit and assessed by the differentiation unit as abnormal paper currency, and has: a second paper currency ejection unit for ejecting the abnormal paper currency into a second accumulation space of the second dispensing unit; and a second stopper member for making contact with the abnormal paper currency ejected by the second paper currency ejection unit and retaining the abnormal paper currency in the second accumulation space.
