A piezoelectric blank of a piezoelectric vibration element according to the present invention includes a vibrating portion and a fixed portion constituting mutually different regions in a plan view. A third surface on a first side of the fixed portion is higher toward the first side than a first surface on the first side of the vibrating portion. An excitation electrode overlaps the first surface. A lead-out electrode is led out from the excitation electrode and overlaps the third surface. A crystal blank has a recessed portion that is recessed from the third surface toward a second side on the opposite side to the first side. In the recessed portion, an edge portion of the third surface on the first surface side is cut away in a plan view. The lead-out electrode has a part leading from the first surface to the third surface via the recessed portion. A first edge portion has a first part edge portion and a second part edge portion. The first part edge portion and the second part edge portion form a corner portion in a plan view. In a first recessed portion, at least one of the first part edge portion and the second part edge portion of the corner portion is cut away.
