Abstract:
Provided is a pneumatic tire with which durability of a transponder can be improved while durability of the tire is ensured. This pneumatic tire comprises a tread section 1 extending in annular form in the tire circumference direction, a pair of side wall sections 2 positioned on both sides of the tread section 1, and a pair of bead sections 3 positioned on the inner sides of the side wall sections 2 with respect to the tire radial direction, wherein a transponder 20 is embedded within the tire, the transponder 20 is covered by a cover layer 23, and the secant elastic modulus at 20°C when the cover layer 23 is deformed by 10% is in the range of 0.5 to 5.0 MPa.
