Abstract:
Provided is a portable terminal that can set an operation-invalid region on a display screen, said region being optimized for the manner in which the portable terminal is held. A smartphone (1A) comprises: a contact surface determination unit (5) that determines the size of a finger contact surface that is detected by contact sensors (6L, 6R); an operation-invalid region setting unit (7) that sets an operation-invalid region in a display screen, said region having an area and a shape corresponding to the size of the contact surface; and a touch event control unit (8) that invalidates operations designated with coordinates in the operation-invalid region.
