Abstract:
A precision evaluation method and system for optical-fiber shape sensing. The method comprises: reconstructing a sensor, and acquiring a curve of a reconstructed sensor; dividing the curve of the sensor into a plurality of sensing segments, and respectively investigating error distributions of the sensing segments; acquiring an error parameter for evaluating the overall performance of the sensor; and normalizing error parameters of sensors of different specifications to the same dimension, so as to horizontally compare reconstruction effects of the sensors of different specifications. In this way, the precision change trend of each segment can be seen from the investigation of a local error; the total segmented weighted error, which has an investigation bias for the sensing segment, can be given in the investigation of a global error; optical-fiber shape sensing precision can be evaluated by taking global and local reconstruction curve error information into consideration; the horizontal evaluation of shape reconstruction effects of sensors of different specifications can be realized; and a researcher can be assisted in balancing an improvement in precision brought by sensing points and an increase in the cost of a sensor, so as to satisfy differentiated investigation requirements in different scenarios.
