Abstract:
ZnO-sputtering is performed while rotating a rolling body housed in a cage formed from metal wire. The ratio value of the cage mesh size and the rolling body diameter is set to a range of 40-95%, thereby dense and uniform ZnO-coating can be applied to the surface of the rolling body. The rolling body with ZnO-coating created in the above manner is used for a bearing which rotates at a high speed in a high load state, thereby the friction coefficient can be greatly reduced compared with the cases without the coating.
