Abstract:
The present invention relates to a map generation method and system (3000) for robot operation, which are capable of intuitively and conveniently preparing a map to be utilized in the traveling of a robot that provides a service in a building. The map generation method according to the present invention may comprise the steps of: receiving a map editing request for a specific floor from among a plurality of floors of a building; providing, in response to the editing request, on a display unit of an electronic device, an editing interface including at least a part of a specific map corresponding to the specific floor; allocating, on the basis of editing information received from the electronic device, at least one graphic object onto the specific map included on the editing interface; and updating, in a cloud server, the specific map to which the graphic object is allocated, so that robots travels on the specific floor, according to the attributes of the graphic object allocated onto the specific map.
