Description:
DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT OF THE INVENTION OF THE "ROTARY PRESS FOR NEWSPAPERS AND OTHERS".

The present invention have the purpose an advanced and modern Rotary Press for newspapers and others that operate by the F EXOGRAPHIC SYSTEM, this system is \' greatly developed in the principals newspapers all over \' the world.

It refers to a system, constructiving \' talking, simple, by the fact of using just four roles, \' containing a inkstand cylinder, a anilox cylinder (utili¬ zed in the dosage of ink), a porte-plate cylinder, on this case, the refered plates, are made by a proper material \' that permit to print plenty of copies without necessary of to substitute them. On the other hand, on this press system,\' the utilized ink is a water basis composition, Which is \' also used on the machine cleaning and inks dilution, this \' fact reduce, sensitively, the "Graphic Poluition Factor" \' and, why not to say, Ecological. Except the fact of preparing make-ups with the same equipment used for print in "off-set", the \' mentioned "Rotary Press for newspapers and others" is to \' get ready for independents units, as well a folder that can be jointed with until five print units, it means that which notebook will have until twenty pages of capacity of

print. Besides, the color receptacle can be jointed on \' which unit, on this case, making possible to print it\' coloured.

The important fact that takes the conclu sion of this Patent Request, refers to the necessity, \' according to a proved great search across all over the\' national graphic park, of a gifted "Totally National \' Technology" equipment, suitable with the operational cir— cumstance, having a cheap constructive and operational \' cost, an easy maintenance and avalability for the replace pieces and a permanent technical assistance.

The plan that results on the said Rotary Press for newspapers and others was carefully elaborated \' and searched for a long time, such here in Brazil as \' abroad, and the consequence was the construction of an\' equipment that assemble the better conditions for to opera te in the brazilian newspapers and with the great advantage of according to previously description, to use an ink with basis composition (a not profanity element and easy \' handling) .

The "Flexographic" press used by the machine described here is used for preparing (print) of \' plastic package and paper for a long time and introduce\' several advantages over the traditional method and machin- ery goods, for instance, Rotary Picture, "off-set" and \' Typography. Besides, this "flexografica" press system is a method that have introduced the greater development on \' technology, notably on the respective at printer plates \' and inks. For this pointed out characteristic by\' the printer system, the Rotary Press for newspapers and \'

others at question introduce the following operationals \' characteristics, that make it an important and incompara— ble mark of the Printer Machines Knoun: a) Direct Print - the ink is directly \' transfered from the plate to the paper; b) High Relief Plates - the plate base \' can be such flexible plastic as metallic, according to ne¬ cessity; c) Water Basic Ink - besides an easier \' absorption by the paper, so, fasten drying, favorable to \' be cleaning by water and it\'s dilution; d) Large Production - the "fotopolimero" (it means a transfer plate) plate have a high mechanics \' resistance and are favorable of a large production (for \' instance: over than a million copies); e) Facility Into Register of Colors - in the reason of the simplicity of the refered "flexographic" system, the agreement of colors is fast and simple, \' bringing, consequently, a great raw-material economy (pa- per); f) Smaller Investment - compared with \' the known "Off-set" print equipments in the market, extrem ly complex as their construction, operation and mainte¬ nance, the cost of the refered "Rotary Press for newεpa pers and others", in the reason of the mentioned "flexo graphic" system of impression, is considerably lower, in \' terms of price, instead much more practical, functional \' and productive; g) Smaller Operational Cost - the requi- rement of no specialized labor, in the reason of the sim— plicity of the said equipment, reduce the costs and give\'

the liberty to training people rapidly and with efficiency; and h) Compacts Groups - like the bobbins \' are jointed to the printer set, the groups are more com— pacts, not demanding big areas of production.

In synthesis, the refered "Rotary Press\' for newspapers and others" is the result of an advanced \' project, whose the constructive simplicity, however with\' higher productivity, it became a top line equipment, for \' this reason, it must be an essential machinery into the \' modern graphic park, according to can be observed on the \' illustrative exemplaries enclosed, where the:

FIGURE 1 - Correspond to a lateral view, schematically and in partial cut of the said "Rotary Press for newspapers and others", we can see the order of the \' cylinders and of the "Impressiom Receptacle", and the

FIGURE 2 - It\'s a complement of the pre¬ vious view, where we can see the printer set fixed in the\' impressiom unit, which will can be in quatity increased. The Rotary Press for newspapers and \' others, the reason of this patent, projected and devel¬ oped, on this case, to impressiom of newspapers, with the use of "water basis composition ink", is basically consti tuted by order lined units (1 and la), which can have \' their number added (until five units) , according to opera¬ tional necessities. Besides, that units (1 and la) are \' supplied, side by side, by the printer set cylinders (2 — and 2a) , respectivelly compound, a porte-plate cylinder \' (3), ink dosage (4) and pincers (5), all of them climbed \' on a parallel way, in the manner of to work (stroll) εimul taneous with the internal printer cylinder (6).

It\'s set off that printer cylinder (6) \'

press the paper sheet (7) -. to be printed - against the \' porte-plate cylinder (3) - high relief impressiom element, which is extracted from the bobbin (8) positioned on th\' \' internal sector of each unit base (1 and la). Attended by plurality of complementary cylinders (9), those are strategically placed, in the i — pressiom units (1 and la), the paper sheet (7) is printed in the desired colors - in case eight pages, standard, sixteen pages, small newspapers, head in colors for the first page - in the reason of the colors receptacle (10), localized next to the impressiom cylinder set (2 and 2a), but, if needed, each unit (1 and la) can receive a colors receptacle (10), like is observed on figure 2.

The said Press is prepared for to print newspapers on the shapes standard, small newspapers, maga¬ zines, books, the impressiom capacity, for unit, on this case, stay in four pages standard or eight pages small newspapers printed with one color, front side and back side. Timely, this units (1 and la) will can as previous described, receive the receptacles of colors (10) for a coloured impressiom, in average of 15.000 (fifteen thou— sand) impressiom/hour.

As to "flexographic" system utilized by \' the refered Rotary Press for newspapers and others, the \' same happen trough the impressiom cylinders set (2 and 2a), which simultaneous work (stroll) make the pincers cylinder (5) catch the ink (water basis composition), passing it by contact, to the porte-plate cylinder (3) - in high relief- (fotopolimero) and from there to the paper sheet (7), by\' means action of impression cylinder (6).

It\'s stand up that, observing optional, \' all the units are connected, it means that all the printed

material goes to a\' predetermined itinerary, touching the \' impression phasis, before of been directioned to the \' sector (11), climbed in a parallel joint to the said Rota¬ ry Press for newspapers and others. Like is observed on \' figure 1.

Finally, in consideration of the paper\'s impression (7), this process happen directly from the plate of the porte-plate cylinder (3) to the paper (7) to be impressed, the basis of the said plates will can be, casuality, such flexible material as metallic. For this time, the plates of "fotopolimero" connected in the body of the porte-plate cylinder (3), given it\'s mechanics re— sistance, assures a large production, into a reduced \' spacetime and with considerably economy of raw-material.
