Abstract:
Provided is a screening method that is for a therapeutic drug or prophylactic drug for tauopathy and that comprises (1) a step for bringing a tau oligomer into contact with the NMDA glutamate receptor in the presence or absence of a candidate compound, and (2) a step for assessing the direct binding of the tau oligomer to the NMDA glutamate receptor. Also, provided is a testing method that is for tauopathy and that comprises (1) a step for bringing a sample isolated from a subject into contact with the NMDA glutamate receptor, and (2) a step for quantifying a tau oligomer directly binding to the NMDA glutamate receptor.
