Abstract:
Provided is a sealing device that can suppress wear of the sealing lip portion in low temperature environments. A sealing device (1) comprises: an elastic main portion (2) comprising an annular elastic body; and a reinforcing ring (3) comprising an annular-shaped metal. The elastic main portion (2) comprises: a mount (4) that is fit inside a mounting portion; and a sealing portion (5) that is in close contact with a shaft so that the shaft can slide. Grease is applied to the sealing lip portion (51) of the sealing portion (5). The grease contains at least one of a synthetic hydrocarbon oil and a mineral oil as the base oil and the low temperature starting torque at −30°C is 25 N∙cm or less.
