Abstract:
A first workpiece (12) and a second workpiece (14) respectively include a first joint portion (24) and a second joint portion (34) which extend linearly. Among the first joint portion (24) and the second joint portion (34), the second joint portion (34) includes a seating portion (40) that abuts the first joint portion (24), and an overlapping portion (42) inclined in a direction that moves away from the first joint portion (24). When joining is to be performed, first the seating portion (40) is butted against the first joint portion (24), and then the overlapping portion (42) is pressed toward the first joint portion (24) by means of a pressing force applying means (106). In addition, laser light (L) is radiated at parts of the first joint portion (24) and the overlapping portion (42) that are in proximity to one another.
