A separator and a battery comprising same. An adhesive layer of the separator comprises a composite material having a fibrous core-shell structure, and in the composite material having a fibrous core-shell structure, a nitrogen-containing phosphate compound is encapsulated in a vinylidene fluoride polymer. When the battery is used in a normal-temperature environment, an encapsulation structure is stable, and the nitrogen-containing phosphate compound is encapsulated in the vinylidene fluoride polymer and stably maintained in the separator, such that the electrical performance of the battery is not affected; moreover, the fibrous vinylidene fluoride polymer can exhibit good adhesive properties, tightly bonding the separator with positive and negative electrode sheets together, thereby ensuring that the battery does not deform during a cycling process. The battery can effectively improve the safety performance thereof, and also has high-low temperature performance.
