Abstract:
The present disclosure envisages a vehicle entertainment system with location based advertising. The system envisages a server and at least one content display device. The server comprising a content uploader to upload online content, a database to store online content, a server transceiver to transmit the online content based on vehicle location. The content display device comprising an input module to accept user inputs related to content preferences, a location module to identify current vehicle location, an advertisement decision analyzer to receive and analyze the user inputs and the current vehicle location to identify online content and offline content including online advertisements and offline advertisements relevant to the user, a display screen to display the identified online and offline content including the online advertisements and the offline advertisements to the user.

Claims:
CLAIMS:

1. A vehicle entertainment system (100) with location based advertising, said system comprising:

• a server (10) comprising:

i. a content uploader (12) configured to upload online content including entertainment content, and a plurality of online advertisements and respective advertisement data, wherein the advertisement data includes an advertisement category, and advertisement location corresponding to each of the online advertisements;

ii. a database (14) configured to store said online content; and iii. a server transceiver (16) configured to transmit said online content based on vehicle location;

and

• at least one content display device (20) configured to cooperate with the server (10) to receive said content, said content display device (20) comprising: i. a memory (22) configured to store a set of predetermined rules, and offline content including a plurality of offline advertisements, and respective offline advertisement data, wherein the offline advertisement data includes an advertisement category, and advertisement location corresponding to each of the offline advertisements;

ii. a processor (24) configured to cooperate with the memory (22) to receive the set of predetermined rules and further configured to generate system processing commands;

iii. an input module (26) configured to accept user inputs related to content preferences;

iv. a location module (28) configured to identify current vehicle location; v. an advertisement decision analyzer (30) configured to receive and analyze the user inputs and the current vehicle location to identify online content and offline content including online advertisements and offline advertisements relevant to the user; and vi. a display screen (32) configured to display said identified online and offline content including said online advertisements and said offline advertisements to the user.

The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said server transceiver (16) is configured to receive said current vehicle location to transmit the online content based on said current vehicle location.

3. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said content display device (20) includes a content transceiver (34) configured to transmit said current vehicle location to said server (10), and further configured to receive the online content based on said current vehicle location.

The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said advertisement decision analyzer (30) comprises an offline identifier module (30a) configured to receive the content preferences and the current vehicle location to identify the offline content stored in said memory (22), corresponding to said content preferences and said current vehicle location.

The system (100) as claimed in claim 4, wherein said advertisement decision analyzer (30) comprises an online identifier module (30b) configured to receive the content preferences and the current vehicle location to identify the online content stored in said database (14), corresponding to said content preferences and said current vehicle location.

The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said content preferences include user preferences related to advertisement category preferences, and entertainment content type preferences.

The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said identified online and offline content displayed on said display screen (32) includes location based e-commerce options, to facilitate users to buy products.

8. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said plurality of online advertisements and said plurality of offline advertisements include location based discounts and offers.

9. A method (200) for providing vehicle entertainment with location based advertising, said method (200) comprising the following steps:

• uploading online content including entertainment content, and a plurality of online advertisements and respective advertisement data, by a content uploader (12), wherein the advertisement data includes an advertisement category, and advertisement location corresponding to each of the online advertisements;

• storing, in a database (14), said online content;

• transmitting, by a server transceiver (16), said online content based on vehicle location;

• storing, in a memory (22), a set of predetermined rules, and offline content including a plurality of offline advertisements, and respective offline advertisement data, wherein the offline advertisement data includes an advertisement category, and advertisement location corresponding to each of the offline advertisements;

• receiving, by a processor (24), the set of predetermined rules and further generating system processing commands;

• accepting, by an input module (26), user inputs related to content preferences;

• identifying, by a location module (28), current vehicle location;

• receiving and analyzing, by an advertisement decision analyzer (30), the user inputs and the current vehicle location to identify online content and offline content including online advertisements and offline advertisements relevant to the user; and

• displaying, by a display screen (32), said identified online offline content including said online advertisements and said offline advertisements to the user.

Description:
A VEHICLE ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM WITH LOCATION BASED

ADVERTISING AND METHOD THEREOF

FIELD

The present disclosure relates to vehicle advertising systems. DEFINITIONS

As used in the present disclosure, the following terms are generally intended to have the meaning as set forth below, except to the extent that the context in which they are used indicates otherwise.

The term "user" used hereinafter in this specification includes a driver or passenger of a vehicle.

This definition is in addition to those expressed in the art. BACKGROUND

Marketing is a key to successful business. To improve marketing, businesses, nowadays engage specialized advertising agencies to provide customized marketing ideas. However, advertising in the field of transportation is limited to non-interactive and non-personalized methods. Conventional methods of advertising includes posters, billboards etc., which are not location specific, and therefore may be overlooked by a person. Additionally, a person may ignore certain advertisements if same posters and/or banners are displayed to him again and again irrespective of his interest or his current location. This reduces the effectiveness of the advertisements and may defeat the purpose of marketing altogether.

Therefore, there is a need for a system and method which displays the advertisements as well as entertainment content according to a user's location of transport vehicle and his interests.

OBJECTS

Some of the objects of the present disclosure, which at least one embodiment herein satisfies, are as follows:

An object of the present disclosure is to provide a vehicle entertainment system with location based advertising which displays advertisements according to the location of the vehicle. Another object of the present disclosure is to provide a vehicle entertainment system with location based advertising, which displays online and offline advertisement to a user.

Yet another object of the present disclosure is to provide a vehicle entertainment system with location based advertising, which displays online and offline entertainment content. Other objects and advantages of the present disclosure will be more apparent from the following description, which is not intended to limit the scope of the present disclosure.

SUMMARY

The present disclosure envisages a vehicle entertainment system with location based advertising. The system comprises a server and at least one content display device. The server comprises a content uploader, a database, and a server transceiver. The content uploader is configured to upload online content including entertainment content, and a plurality of online advertisements and respective advertisement data, wherein the advertisement data includes an advertisement category, and advertisement location corresponding to each of the online advertisements. The database is configured to store the online content. The server transceiver is configured to transmit the online content based on vehicle location. The content display device is configured to cooperate with the server to receive the content. The content display device comprising a memory, a processor, an input module, a location module and an advertisement decision analyzer and a display screen. The memory is configured to store a set of predetermined rules, and offline content including a plurality of offline advertisements, and respective offline advertisement data, wherein the offline advertisement data includes an advertisement category, and advertisement location corresponding to each of the offline advertisements. The processor is configured to cooperate with the memory to receive the set of predetermined rules and further configured to generate system processing commands. The input module is configured to accept user inputs related to content preferences. The location module is configured to identify current vehicle location. The advertisement decision analyzer is configured to receive and analyze the user inputs and the current vehicle location to identify online content and offline content including online advertisements and offline advertisements relevant to the user. The display screen is configured to display the identified online and offline content including the online advertisements and the offline advertisements to the user. In an embodiment, the server transceiver is configured to receive the current vehicle location to transmit the online content based on the current vehicle location.

In an embodiment, the content display device includes a content transceiver. The content transceiver is configured to transmit the current vehicle location to the server, and is further configured to receive the online content based on the current vehicle location.

In an embodiment, the advertisement decision analyzer comprises an offline identifier module. The offline identifier module is configured to receive the content preferences and the current vehicle location to identify the offline content stored in the memory, corresponding to the content preferences and the current vehicle location.

In an embodiment, the advertisement decision analyzer comprises an online identifier module. The online identifier module is configured to receive the content preferences and the current vehicle location to identify the online content stored in the database, corresponding to the content preferences and the current vehicle location.

In another embodiment, the content preferences include user preferences related to advertisement category preferences, and entertainment content type preferences.

In yet another embodiment, the identified online and offline content displayed on the display screen includes location based e-commerce options, to facilitate users to buy products.

Further, in one embodiment, the plurality of online advertisements and the plurality of offline advertisements include location based discounts and offers.

In an embodiment, a method for providing vehicle entertainment with location based advertising is envisaged. The method comprises the following steps:

• uploading online content including entertainment content, and a plurality of online advertisements and respective advertisement data, by a content uploader, wherein the advertisement data includes an advertisement category, and advertisement location corresponding to each of the online advertisements;

• storing, in a database, the online content;

• transmitting, by a server transceiver, the online content based on vehicle location; storing, in a memory, a set of predetermined rules, and offline content including a plurality of offline advertisements, and respective offline advertisement data, wherein the offline advertisement data includes an advertisement category, and advertisement location corresponding to each of the offline advertisements;

receiving, by a processor, the set of predetermined rules and further generating system processing commands;

accepting, by an input module, user inputs related to content preferences; identifying, by a location module, current vehicle location;

· receiving and analyzing, by an advertisement decision analyzer (30), the user inputs and the current vehicle location to identify online content and offline content including online advertisements and offline advertisements relevant to the user; and

• displaying, by a display screen, the identified online offline content including the online advertisements and the offline advertisements to the user.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Marketing is a key to successful business. To improve marketing, businesses, nowadays engage specialized advertising agencies to provide customized marketing ideas. However, advertising in the field of transportation is limited to non-interactive and non-personalized methods. Conventional methods of advertising includes posters, billboards etc., which are not location specific, and therefore may be overlooked by a person. Additionally, a person may ignore certain advertisements if same posters and/or banners are displayed to him again and again irrespective of his interest or his current location. This reduces the effectiveness of the advertisements and may defeat the purpose of marketing altogether. Therefore, there is a need for a system and method which displays the advertisements as well as entertainment content according to a user's location of transport vehicle and his interests.

The present disclosure envisages a vehicle entertainment system with location based advertising and method thereof. The system of the present disclosure is now describes with the help of accompanying drawing wherein Figure 1 illustrates a schematic diagram of a vehicle entertainment system with location based advertising, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure, and Figure 2a and 2b illustrate a flow diagram illustrating steps involved in a method for providing vehicle entertainment with location based advertising, in accordance with one embodiment of the present disclosure. The vehicle entertainment system (hereinafter referred to as system) (100) with location based advertising comprises a server (10) and at least one content display device (20). The server (10) comprises a content uploader (12), a database (14), and a server transceiver (16). The at least one content display device (20) is configured to cooperate with the server (10) to receive the content and comprises a memory (22), a processor (24), an input module (26), a location module (28), an advertisement decision analyzer (30), and a display screen (32).

The content uploader (12) is configured to upload online content including entertainment content, and a plurality of online advertisements and respective advertisement data. The advertisement data includes an advertisement category, and advertisement location corresponding to each of the online advertisements.

The database (14) is configured to store the online content. The server transceiver (16) is configured to transmit the online content based on vehicle location.

The at least one content display device (20) can be selected from a group including but not limiting to a smartphone, a laptop, a tablet, an iPad, a PDA, a notebook, a net book, a smart device, a smart phone, a personal computer, a handheld device and the like. The at least one content display device (20) can be placed of fitted in the vehicle, in one embodiment, the at least one content display device (20) is mounted in a headrest of a vehicle seat. In another embodiment, the at least one content display device (20) is mounted in a dashboard of the vehicle. In yet another embodiment, the at least one content display device (20) is affixed to a seat of the vehicle. Further, in an embodiment, the at least one content display device (20) is mounted in ceiling of the vehicle.

The memory (22) is configured to store a set of predetermined rules, and offline content including a plurality of offline advertisements, and respective offline advertisement data, wherein the offline advertisement data includes an advertisement category, and advertisement location corresponding to each of the offline advertisements. The memory (22) may include any computer-readable medium known in the art including, for example, volatile memory, such as static random access memory (SRAM) and dynamic random access memory (DRAM), and/or a non-volatile memory, such as read only memory (ROM), erasable programmable ROM, flash memories, hard disks, optical disks, and magnetic tapes, and/or a cloud based storage (cloud storage). The offline content includes entertainment content as well as advertisements, which can be played/ displayed in offline mode without Internet. The processor (24) is configured to cooperate with the memory (22) to receive the set of predetermined rules and is further configured to generate system processing commands. The processor (24) may be implemented as one or more microprocessors, microcomputers, microcontrollers, digital signal processors, central processing units, state machines, logic circuitries, and/or any devices that manipulate signals based on operational instructions. Among other capabilities, the processor (24) is configured to fetch and execute the set of predetermined rules stored in the memory (22) to control modules of the system (100).

The input module (26) is configured to accept user inputs related to content preferences. In one embodiment, the content preferences include user preferences related to advertisement category preferences, and entertainment content type preferences. In one embodiment, the entertainment content type preferences includes preferences related to videos, pre-recorded music, Frequency Modulated (FM)/Amplitude Modulated (AM) radio channels, internet browsing, online and offline video games, movies, audio/video advertisements, audio/video calls, access to road maps, and the like. The location module (28) is configured to identify current vehicle location. In one embodiment, the location module (28) is configured to provide current vehicle location, at predefined time intervals, in latitudes and longitudes.

The advertisement decision analyzer (30) is configured to receive and analyze the user inputs and the current vehicle location to identify online content and offline content including online advertisements and offline advertisements relevant to the user. In one embodiment, the advertisement decision analyzer (30) comprises an offline identifier module (30a) configured to receive the content preferences and the current vehicle location to identify the offline content stored in the memory (22), corresponding to the content preferences and the current vehicle location. In one embodiment, the offline identifier module (30a) is configured to identify and facilitate rendering of the stored offline content including offline advertisements, videos, movies, songs, and games to the user. In another embodiment, the offline content is updated at predefined intervals of time. Further, the advertisement decision analyzer (30) comprises an online identifier module (30b) configured to receive the content preferences and the current vehicle location to identify the online content stored in the database (14), corresponding to the content preferences and the current vehicle location. In an embodiment, the online identifier module (30b) is configured to identify and facilitate streaming of online content and AM/FM radio channels to the user. In another embodiment, online identifier module (30b) facilitates streaming of the content using Internet and AM/FM radio receiver. Further, in one embodiment, the location module (28) is configured to provide an update or send an alert to the advertisement decision analyzer (30) when the vehicle reaches a predefined location or a predefined geo-fenced area at a predefined time interval. This enables the advertisement decision analyzer (30) to provide relevant entertainment content to the user. Additionally, the advertisement decision analyzer (30) is configured to interleave location based advertisements with the online and offline content being rendered to the user.

The display screen (32) is configured to display the identified online and offline content including the online advertisements and the offline advertisements to the user. In an embodiment, the identified online and offline content displayed on the display screen (32) includes location based e-commerce options, to facilitate users to buy products. For example, an online or offline advertisement displayed on the display screen (32) may show pictures and details related to a particular product and a link or a button to buy that product. The product advertised, in this case, can be offered by a merchant whose shop is in the vicinity of current location of the vehicle. Further, the plurality of online advertisements and the plurality of offline advertisements include location based discounts and offers. In one embodiment, the display screen (32) is an interactive touch screen which facilitates the user to interact with the system (100). By using the display screen (32), the user can watch videos, listen to pre-recorded or live music, listen to Frequency Modulated (FM)/ Amplitude Modulated (AM) radio channels, browse internet, play online and offline video games, watch movies, watch/listen to audio/video advertisements, make audio/video calls, access road maps, check emails, and the like. The display screen (32) facilitates the user to access/browse all sorts of online and offline content which he/she may access/browse by using the at least one content display device (20) which can be a smartphone or any other similar personal computing device including laptop, desktop, tablet computers, and the like. Further, in one embodiment of the present disclosure, the display screen (32) is selected from a group of Thin Film Transistor (TFT) LCD touchscreen, an In-Place Switching (IPS) LCD touchscreen, a resistive touchscreen LCD, a capacitive touchscreen LCD, an Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) display screen, an Active-Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode (AMOLED) display screen, a super AMOLED screen, a retina display screen, and a Gorilla Glass display screen. In one embodiment, the server transceiver (16) is configured to receive the current vehicle location to transmit the online content based on the current vehicle location.

In another embodiment, the content display device (20) includes a content transceiver (34) configured to transmit the current vehicle location to the server (10), and further configured to receive the online content based on the current vehicle location.

Further, in an embodiment, the system (100) is configured to record engagement of the user with the displayed content and the location based advertisements rendered to the user with requested or generic content. In embodiments of the present disclosure, the user may engage with the rendered content and the advertisement in a plurality of manner including, without any limitation, by pressing a like button on the display screen (32), by selecting a particular category of content, by playing, pausing, and skipping rendered content and advertisements, by pressing forward/backword buttons on the display screen (32) when the content/advertisement was being rendered and/or by any other buttons on the screen to drive the engagements, by requesting a call-back or revert from the company or person associated with the advertised goods or services, or the advertiser, and the like.

In one embodiment, the system (100) is configured to send the recorded user engagements to the advertisement decision analyzer (30). The location module (28) also communicates changes in location pattern of the vehicle like, without any limitation, new routes taken by the vehicle, and amount of time the vehicle spends at a particular location. The location module (28) communicates with the advertisement decision analyzer (30) using Over The Air (OTA) communication technique by utilizing a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card associated with the system (100) or standalone GPS which can be connected to the system (100).

The advertisement decision analyzer (30) is configured to receive and analyze the recorded engagements of the user and the changes in the location pattern of the vehicle. Based on the analysis, the advertisement decision analyzer (30) determines the need of new advertisements for the users associated with the system (100). For example, if the vehicle has started taking new routes/locations, the advertisement decision analyzer (30) may look for relevant advertisements in the database (14) and may facilitate updation of the memory (22) via OTA communication channel. Further based on the engagement of passenger with the content and advertisements, the advertisement decision analyzer (30) may facilitate modification of the content and the advertisements that are rendered to the passengers associated with the system (100).

The method (200) for providing vehicle entertainment with location based advertising comprises the following steps:

• uploading online content including entertainment content, and a plurality of online advertisements and respective advertisement data, by a content uploader (12), wherein the advertisement data includes an advertisement category, and advertisement location corresponding to each of the online advertisements; (step 202)

• storing, in a database (14), the online content; (step 204)

• transmitting, by a server transceiver (16), the online content based on vehicle location; (step 206)

• storing, in a memory (22), a set of predetermined rules, and offline content including a plurality of offline advertisements, and respective offline advertisement data, wherein the offline advertisement data includes an advertisement category, and advertisement location corresponding to each of the offline advertisements; (step 208)

• receiving, by a processor (24), the set of predetermined rules and further generating system processing commands; (step 210)

• accepting, by an input module (26), user inputs related to content preferences; (step 212)

• identifying, by a location module (28), current vehicle location; (step 214)

• receiving and analyzing, by an advertisement decision analyzer (30), the user inputs and the current vehicle location to identify online content and offline content including online advertisements and offline advertisements relevant to the user; (step 216) and

• displaying, by a display screen (32), the identified online offline content including the online advertisements and the offline advertisements to the user (step 218).

TECHNICAL ADVANCEMENTS

The present disclosure described herein above has several technical advantages including, but not limited to, the realization of:

• a vehicle entertainment system with location based advertising which displays advertisements according to the location of the vehicle; • a vehicle entertainment system with location based advertising, which displays online and offline advertisement to a user; and

• a vehicle entertainment system with location based advertising, which displays online and offline entertainment content.

The disclosure described herein with reference to the accompanying embodiments does not limit the scope and ambit of the disclosure. The description provided is purely by way of example and illustration.

The embodiments herein and the various features and advantageous details thereof are explained with reference to the non-limiting embodiments in the following description. Descriptions of well-known components and processing techniques are omitted so as to not unnecessarily obscure the embodiments herein. The examples used herein are intended merely to facilitate an understanding of ways in which the embodiments herein may be practiced and to further enable those of skill in the art to practice the embodiments herein.
