Abstract:
A vehicle weight estimation device 10 has: a collection unit 11 that collects vibration information indicating vibrations, said vibration information being outputted from a sensor 25 that is provided to a construction having a vibration-producing structure that produces vibrations when a vehicle 30 passes; an axle response extraction unit 12 that uses the vibration information to detect an axle response indicating that an axle of the vehicle 30 has passed the vibration-producing structure; an axle index calculation unit 13 that, for each axle, calculates an axle index on the basis of the axle response; a conversion unit 14 that references conversion information to convert each axle index to an axle weight, said conversion information having been stored in advance and indicating the relationship between axle index and axle weight; and a vehicle weight calculation unit 15 that totals the respective axle weights of the axles and calculates a vehicle weight.
