Abstract:
Provided is a vehicular communication system capable of preventing interference of signals transmitted from a vehicle-mounted wireless unit constituting one wireless communication system, such as a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and from a portable unit constituting another wireless communication system.
The vehicular communication system is provided with: a portable unit 4 that wirelessly transmits a signal pertaining to the operation of a vehicle C in a predetermined frequency band; a vehicle-mounted wireless unit 2 that wirelessly transmits a signal pertaining to the vehicle C in the predetermined frequency band; and a vehicle-mounted communication device 1 which is disposed at a different location from the vehicle-mounted wireless unit 2 and which performs wireless communication between the portable unit 4 and the vehicle-mounted wireless unit 2. The vehicle-mounted communication device 1 receives the signals transmitted from the portable unit 4 and the vehicle-mounted communication device 1, and determines the presence or absence of interference on the basis of the received signals. The vehicle-mounted communication device 1, upon determining that there is interference, transmits a stop signal to the portable unit 4 or the vehicle-mounted wireless unit 2, instructing the unit to stop the signal transmission. The portable unit 4 or the vehicle-mounted wireless unit 2, upon reception of the stop signal, stops the signal transmission.
