Abstract:
Disclosed is a video decoding method in which: a syntax element related to a multiple transform selection technique is obtained, from a bitstream, for a current coding unit or a current transform unit included in the current coding unit; a horizontal or vertical transform kernel for the current transform unit is determined on the basis of the obtained syntax element; a residual signal is obtained by performing an inverse transform on the current transform unit on the basis of the horizontal or vertical transform kernel determined for the current transform unit; and a reconstruction block including the current coding unit or the current transform unit is generated on the basis of the residual signal for the current transform unit.
