Abstract:
A waveform equalization controller comprising a waveform equalizer including
a filter having a plurality of taps, updating the tap coefficient of the plurality
of taps according to an inputted tap coefficient signal, inputting a plurality
of sample values at different times of an input signals to the plurality of taps,
respectively, and performing waveform equalization on the input signal to output
it, an equalization target value generating section for determining an equalization
target value, a section for estimating error between the equalization target
value and a signal subjected to waveform equalization, and a coefficient update
section for determining the coefficient update amount of each tap based on the
error signal, and the input value for each tap of a filter in the waveform equalizer
and outputting it as a tap coefficient signal. The equalization target value
generating section determines a sign signal indicative of plus/minus of the
signal subjected to waveform equalization for first through fifth times, and
determines a value corresponding to the total sum of the sign signals for first
through fifth times respectively multiplied by θ, β, α,
β, θ (α, β, θ are predetermined real numbers)
as an equalization target value.
