Abstract:

Provided is a wavelength conversion device that prevents variation in optical characteristics of an element due to an electric field, by suppressing charges which are generated on the surface of the element. A wavelength conversion element according to one embodiment of the present disclosure generates light of a wavelength different from the wavelength of signal light when such signal light is inputted, the device comprising an optical waveguide core, a substrate having a refractive index lower than that of the optical waveguide core with respect to signal light, and a conductive layer having electrical conduction properties and arranged in contact with at least a part of the surface of the optical waveguide core.
