Abstract:
Provided is a wheel bearing device that includes an outer sealing member having: a seal lip that is fixed to an outer end of an outer member; and a metal ring that is mated with a hub wheel of an inner member and that is in sliding contact with the seal lip. The wheel bearing device can easily increase the mating force of the metal ring with the hub wheel and can prevent movement of the metal ring when a slewing load is applied to the hub wheel. A metal ring (83) has: a metal-ring cylindrical section (83a) mated with an outer circumferential surface of a hub wheel (3); a metal-ring disk section (83b) located on a radially and axially outer side of the metal-ring cylindrical section (83a); and a tapered connection section (83c) that connects the metal-ring cylindrical section (83a) and the metal-ring disk section (83b) and that is inclined at an angle from 40° to 50° with respect to the axis of the hub wheel (3) in a circumferential cross section.
