Abstract:
In a traffic communication system 1, a wireless roadside device 200 establishes road-to-vehicle communication with an in-vehicle communication device 150, and the wireless roadside device comprises: a road-to-vehicle communication unit 21b that transmits a first road-to-vehicle message having a prescribed format, at a prescribed cycle; and a control unit 22 that generates a second road-to-vehicle message regarding the presence/absence of a traffic hazard on the basis of an output from a roadside sensor 500. The road-to-vehicle communication unit 21b transmits the second road-to-vehicle message at a cycle which is shorter than the prescribed cycle.
