Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a hard disk drive to a system in the optimum condition.
SOLUTION: A processing decision device 1 reads the data out of a hard disk drive 5 in every prescribed block via a data transfer device 4 before the data are actually transferred. At the same time, a time count device 2 counts the time when the data are actually read out of the drive 5 in every block, i.e., the real data transfer time. A transfer time storage 3 stores the real data transfer time in every block. In actual data transfer mode, the device 1 refers to the real data transfer time stored in the storage 3 to write the data into only the blocks having the transfer time smaller than that requested by a system and without using the blocks having the transfer time larger than that requested by the system.
