Title:
HIGH STRENGTH COLD FORMING NON-HEAT TREATED STEEL MATERIAL FOR SHOCK-ABSORBING/RESTORING MECHANISM MEMBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3814710
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high strength non-heat treated steel material for a shock- absorbing/restoring mechanism member such as automobile stabilizer, excellent in cold workability and having ≥1150 MPa tensile strength.
SOLUTION: This steel material has a composition consisting of, by mass, 0.05-0.30% C, 0.10-1.00% Si, 1.00-3.50% Mn, 1.00-3.50% Cr, 0.10-0.90% Mo, 0.020-0.080% sol.Al, 0.100-0.400% V, 0.0050-0.015% N, and the balance Fe with impurities and can be obtained by subjecting a steel slab to heating to 950-1150°C, to finish rolling at 750-950°C, and to cooling at a rate of (5 to 50)°C/s after rolling. Further, the above composition contains (1) either or both of 0.005-0.020% Ti and 0.005-0.025% Nb; (2) 0.005-0.020% Ti and 0.0005-0.0050% B; or (3) 0.0005-0.0050% B other than (1). Moreover, V+Ti+Nb=0.105 to 0.405% is satisfied.
